99351926Antenatal Clinic - Friday 09:00 – 12:00

If you think you are pregnant please make an appointment to see the doctor for a discussion of your care during pregnancy. You will then be asked to make a booking appointment via reception to see the midwife. Patients are seen by the midwife by appointment at surgery clinics.

Baby Clinic - Thursdays

The baby clinics are run between 10:00 and 12:00 by the health visitors for child development checks and allow an opportunity to discuss other problems such as sleeping, feeding and child health worries.

The health visitors are available (no appointment necessary) at St Mary's Island Community Centre, Island Way, West Kent ME4 3EP

Family Planning

Contraceptive care is provided by the practice nurse or doctor through the usual appointment system. Please advise reception staff at the time of booking if you require emergency contraceptive treatment.

Patients Over 75 Years

If you are aged 75 years or over, you should be seen annually by the doctor, the practice nurse, district nurse or health visitor. This can be arranged at the surgery or, if that is not possible, a home visit will be arranged.

Travel Immunisations / Vaccinations

Please fill out a travel form at reception at least 12 weeks in advance of your holiday to ensure adequate cover. A charge will be made for certain vaccinations which are not covered by the NHS. A list of these charges is held at reception.

Flu Vaccination

An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes and residents of nursing and rest homes. Please contact the reception staff in October for details of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment. If you are unable to attend the surgery, a home visit will be arranged to undertake this facility.

Phlebotomy

Our health care assistant (HCA) is available to take blood for tests on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Please book your blood test via reception who will confirm the days available for your surgery. The HCA can also do other routine observations such as blood pressure checks, pill checks in addition to height and weight monitoring and health checks.

Stop Smoking Service

Our health care assistant (HCA) has been very successful in helping patients give up smoking, achieving a high success rate. She is available for appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30 - 11.30am.
